Adoption Home Study Services
Adoption can feel overwhelming—but your home study doesn’t have to be.
Bringing a child into your family through adoption is a meaningful and life-changing decision. One of the first steps in that journey is completing an adoption home study—a process designed not to judge you, but to prepare and support you as you move forward with confidence.
At Adoption Advocates, our role is to guide you through this step with clarity, professionalism, and care. Whether you are working with an agency, an attorney, or pursuing an independent adoption, we provide home study services that meet Texas requirements and align with your unique path.
Who We Serve
We provide home study services for families across Texas, regardless of the agency or attorney you’re working with. Our team is licensed in Texas, and our counselors are available to travel to your home for in-person visits.
We complete home studies for:
- Domestic infant adoption
- Independent or designated adoption
- Kinship (relative) adoption
- Embryo adoption
Please note that we do not offer home study services for families pursuing foster care or international adoptions. If you’re unsure whether your situation applies, we’re happy to talk it through with you.

What to Expect During Your Home Study
Understanding what’s ahead can make the home study feel far more manageable. While each situation is unique, most home studies include:
- Document collection
You’ll provide records such as identification, financial statements, medical forms, and references. - Interviews with household members
We’ll spend time getting to know you and anyone living in your home (including children), discussing your background, relationships, and adoption plans. - Home visit and safety review
This is a straightforward check to ensure your home environment is safe and appropriate for a child. - Financial overview
We’ll review your ability to meet a child’s needs—not perfection, just stability. - Background checks
Required screenings are conducted for adults and certain minors in the household. - Final report preparation
Once everything is complete, we compile and deliver your official home study report.
Throughout the process, your specialist will be available to answer questions and help you feel prepared at every step.
